Position Overview:
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant II plays a crucial role in the collection, receipt, and processing of both inpatient and outpatient specimens for laboratory analysis. This position involves effective communication with nursing staff regarding patient specimens, coordinating with external laboratories, and engaging with physicians, clients, and colleagues concerning referral lab tests. Additionally, the role includes performing phlebotomy procedures and undertaking other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months in Phlebotomy; or
- 6 months in a Laboratory-related field; or
- 6 months in a related area.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent; or
- Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License is required.
Preferred Credentials:
- Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position is based in the laboratory at BayCare Health System, specifically within the Central Processing department. The role is full-time and requires working from 3:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with weekend shifts every other week.
Remote Work:
This position does not allow for remote work.
