Position Summary:The Certified Medication Aide is responsible for coordinating and administering medications to residents in a nursing facility while providing supervision and guidance to clinical staff.
Qualifications:- Valid Medication Technician certification in the respective state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Preferred one year of experience in nursing.
- Document residents' conditions and nursing requirements.
- Accurately implement physicians' orders in a timely manner.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff and CNAs.
- Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required by company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures as permitted by state regulations.
- Ensure supplies are used efficiently and that equipment is maintained safely.
- Report and document significant observations and reactions regarding residents.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff.
- Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, and all organizational levels.
- Ability to respond decisively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of training methodologies for clinical personnel.
