Job Summary

The Dentist will oversee various professional dental care and treatment activities, maintaining appropriate dental health standards and practices. This role involves direct patient care through clinical practice and overseeing the work of dental staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care Activities
    • Provides general and comprehensive dental services, including oral examinations and treatment
    • Participates in quality assurance activities
  • Communication and Health Information Entered into Record
    • Communicates health information to patients, support staff, and team members
    • Ensures patients are informed of examination findings, diagnoses, and proposed treatment
    • Ensures patients are informed of completed treatment on an ongoing basis
    • Patient's medical status monitored and updated as indicated
    • Responsible for accurately recording patient treatment procedures into the electronic record
    • Communicates with specialist providers to coordinate referrals
  • Administrative Responsibility
    • Responsible for dental clinic operations in the absence of the Dental Director
Requirements
  • Requires advanced organizational skills in the planning and execution of patient care
  • Job duties require the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work requires consideration of the impact of work product on other employees in the work process
Professional & Technical Knowledge

Job duties require knowledge and training specific to the discipline of dentistry acquired in a formal dental training program.

Licenses and Certifications

Individual must be licensed and maintain a license to practice dentistry in Idaho.

Technical Skills
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and reports in Microsoft Word
  • Ability to create, send, and manage email in Outlook
  • Fully functional in the use of the Electronic Dental Record (EDR) program
