Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic team at Affinity Dental. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, take x-rays, and educate patients on oral hygiene practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and debridement
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings
  • Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations
  • Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in electronic medical records
  • Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Valid state dental hygiene license
  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Knowledge of medical documentation standards and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Familiarity with dental office procedures and terminology
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient privacy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for performing delicate procedures
  • Basic knowledge of medical coding for insurance billing purposes is preferred
