Educational Background and Experience Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant painting processes is required, with a preference for candidates with experience in the aviation sector. A valid driver's license is essential. Role Objective: The Aircraft Painter II operates with minimal oversight to effectively prepare, paint, and detail aircraft in accordance with established schedules while adhering to company quality standards and operational protocols.

Responsibilities and Duties

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Execute aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing tasks safely with minimal supervision. Collaborate with supervisory staff and inspection teams to ensure adherence to internal and FAA documentation, approvals, and quality standards.
  2. Adhere to standard operating procedures while utilizing tools and equipment, including dual-action sanders, hydraulic lifts, and paint sprayers. Maintain and care for shop tools and equipment appropriately.
  3. Follow established protocols when handling sealants, paint removers, and corrosion-inhibiting substances, using protective gear as necessary.
  4. Observe safety regulations and procedures, remaining vigilant for hazardous conditions. Proactively address unsafe situations to protect personnel and property.
  5. Utilize the material tracking system to generate parts requirements, monitor issues, and validate completed work.
  6. Assist in the movement of aircraft within hangar facilities.
  7. Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and engage in related activities.
Additional Requirements:
  1. Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending the English language.
  2. Competent in using tools and equipment pertinent to the aircraft painting process.
  3. Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  4. Capable of passing a Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification.
  5. Must be able to ascend ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and be flexible with shift assignments.
  6. Computer literacy is required.
  7. Familiarity with various paint processes and materials (such as lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics) is essential.
  8. Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
