Mount Sinai Brooklyn is seeking a skilled Laboratory Clerk to join our team. As a Laboratory Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform clerical tasks, including data entry and record-keeping, to ensure accurate and efficient laboratory operations.
- Display a strong understanding of laboratory functions, policies, and procedures to provide excellent support to our team.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to accurately post and manage laboratory records.
- Route calls and messages to the appropriate departments in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conduct research and retrieve information from records to verify accuracy and location.
- Provide laboratory results to authorized personnel, including physicians and nursing staff.
- Maintain patient and employee confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and Infection Control policies.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance laboratory operations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least six months of experience in clerical work, preferably in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent command of the English language and excellent computer skills.
- Ability to handle biohazard specimens safely and efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The Laboratory Clerk position requires work every other weekend. We offer a competitive salary range of $583 to $648 per week, with a guaranteed 37.5 hours per week.
