Fitter Specialist

Crest Industries is seeking an experienced Fitter II to join our team in Pineville. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for fitting steel layouts according to specifications, utilizing a variety of machinery and equipment, including cranes.

• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits to ensure a safe working environment.
• Position, align, and weld parts to form complete structures, following blueprints and layout specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Examine steel or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and quality, with minimal supervision and rework.
• Train and mentor junior team members in the Fitter I position.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure required.
• Welding certification or prior welding experience with the successful passing of DIS-TRAN Steel's Welder II test is required.
• Capable of producing complete joint penetration welds that meet all visual and ultrasonic inspection per AWS D1.1 structural steel welding code.
• Ability to use standard set of weld gauges and properly set, maintain, and troubleshoot welding equipment.
