Music/Art Program Specialist

Meridell Achievement Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music/Art Program Specialist to join its Recreation Therapy department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing music and art activities for pediatric psychiatric patients, promoting a fun and engaging environment that fosters creativity and self-expression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement music and art therapy sessions for patients of varying ages and abilities
  • Collaborate with the Recreation Therapy team to develop and implement program plans
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, using music and art as therapeutic tools
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of program goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a related field
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with mental health needs
  • Valid Class C Driver's License and good driving record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to ensure quality services are provided
