Position Overview

MISC. is seeking a Red Team Software Developer to contribute to our cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess an active secret clearance and the capability to secure a TS/SCI clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in software engineering tasks that support the Red Team's mission to simulate adversarial tactics in Computer Network Attack, Computer Network Exploitation, and Computer Network Defense.
  • Analyze requirements and design software solutions based on insights and feedback from Red Team operations.
  • Enhance skills in Red Team methodologies through participation in and observation of Red Team exercises.
  • Facilitate mission objectives and training by developing innovative technical and non-technical solutions that effectively identify and exploit vulnerabilities in information systems.
  • Conduct research on exploitation techniques, develop tools (software, applications, scripts), and assist in the configuration and management of test environments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with network and security protocols.
  • Utilize network protocol analysis tools and possess the ability to interpret packet captures.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, team members, vendors, and external experts.
  • Replicate adversarial strategies in simulations.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active Secret clearance and be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as C++ and C#.
  • Strong self-management, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to conduct penetration testing on applications, systems, and networks using established methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current threats, vulnerabilities, and exploit techniques.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to decompose complex issues into manageable tasks.
  • Certifications such as CEH and CISSP are preferred but not mandatory.

Business Development Support

Contribute to business development efforts aligned with MISC.'s strategic goals, which may involve technical interviews, drafting technical documentation, and assisting with proposal writing and reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable with extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 10-15 pounds.

Travel Expectations

Occasional travel may be required, up to 15%.
