Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN OR Clinical Coordinator to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for providing clinical expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with staffing schedules and daily staffing assignments to provide competent personnel for each patient.
  • Ensure on-time starts and minimal turnaround times for surgical cases.
  • Communicate with PREOP and PACU, Surgery Schedulers and Surgeons.
  • Be knowledgeable of regulatory requirements and assist with compliance.
  • Perform the duties of a circulator and surgical technician as needed.
  • Ensure and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift.
  • Collaborate with other members of the management team to direct, monitor and evaluate nursing care.
  • Manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Provide assistance in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases as needed.
  • Work alongside surgical teams to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Assess patients before, during, and after surgery and maintain a sterile operating room.
  • Perform count procedures to protect patient from unintended retained foreign objects as well as perform interventions necessary to ensure the patient's procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
  • At least one year of RN Perioperative experience is required.
