Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Personal Financial Counselor to join our team at Magellan Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert financial guidance and counseling services to military service members and their families at assigned installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
  • Assist service members in creating a spending plan for extended absences.
  • Develop and disseminate informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and deliver a wide range of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops, including topics across the military lifecycle.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication modes, such as web-based, secure online chat, or video-based communications.
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
  • Participate in regular in-services, training, and quality improvement committees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • May consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
  • Must have over a thousand hours of financial counseling experience.
