Job Description

Remington & Vernick Engineers is seeking a skilled Structural Design Professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing a variety of structural building projects, including commercial and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural calculations and modeling for new and existing buildings, retaining walls, and other structures.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of design techniques, procedures, regulations, materials, and specifications.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Coordinate with a team to prepare technical reports and construction drawings.
  • Perform field inspections and participate in client meetings.
  • Research and develop design solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or other structural modeling software.

Working Environment:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, and ACI 318. They will also have experience with steel design, wood design, concrete design, and cold-formed steel framing system analysis and design.
