Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to join our team at LDL Automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with company and customer procedures, engineering practices, safety standards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop detailed Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and other documentation to define project scope and requirements.
  • Provide electrical and instrumentation design support to multiple projects, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Design and develop motor controls, power distribution systems, electrical power, control, and instrumentation wiring.
  • Apply strong electrical controls and relay logic knowledge to design and develop electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Develop instrument and electrical construction packages, adhering to company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with customer engineers to develop instrument data sheets and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Design Building Management Systems (BMS), instrumentation, and control systems, including associated wiring, panels, and other components.
  • Develop detailed instrument loop/wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and area classification plans.
  • Conduct cable tray/conduit/wire sizing, cable selection, and electrical panel sizing to ensure efficient and safe system design.
  • Work closely with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project success and ensure timely completion.
  • Perform field measurements, as-built documentation, and design updates as required.
  • Develop detailed material take-offs, construction scope of work, and construction estimating to ensure accurate project planning.
  • Request material quotes, order materials, and follow up on ordered materials and field installations.
