Job Title: Regional Acute Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Regional Acute Care Nurse to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.

Responsibilities:
  • Promote the use of evidence-based practice through the nursing process, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assess patient's status through interview, observation, and physical assessment of actual problems and outcomes.
  • Develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
  • Use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes.
  • Systematically evaluate and document patient's progress toward expected outcomes/goals on an ongoing basis throughout the shift.
  • Modify plan of care based on evaluation and as needed based on changes in patient condition.
  • Complete required documentation as appropriate, including patient chart and event reports.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot when problems arise.
  • Share clinical knowledge through informal teaching and in response to the learning needs of others.
  • Perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures/policies.
  • Coordinate the interdisciplinary care of the patient through collaboration with team members and utilize additional resources when necessary.
Requirements:
  • College Diploma in Nursing, ADN or BSN
  • IL RN license upon hire
  • Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser
  • Multicultural sensitivity
  • Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions
