About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain aseptic surgical fields, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and surgical teams.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, providing support and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment used in the operating room, including surgical tables, lights, and suction machines.
  • Transport patients and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams and patients.
  • Physical stamina to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies, as well as stand for extended periods.
