Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consumer-driven services, modeling traits such as personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and hopefulness.
  • Refer and link consumers to community resources, ensuring a safe and sanitary living environment.
  • Attend meetings and consumer staffings, helping to develop programs and promote the recovery model of treatment.
  • Promote trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) certification or Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CRADC) certification in good standing with the State of Illinois.
  • Or a bachelor's degree with five years of mental health, substance use, or other social service experience and obtain CADC within two years of hire.
  • Or a combination of college and experience.
  • Preference for crisis intervention or co-occurring experience/training.
  • Valid drivers license, private automobile insurance, and be insurable.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with MS Word, email, and electronic medical records (EMR).
