We are seeking a part-time Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Southeastern Virginia Training Center. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
- Assist physicians with routine medical treatments.
- Conduct routine assessments and provide care in homes during the week and weekends as assigned.
- Participate in planning and service provision with the interdisciplinary team.
- Coordinate services with family members.
- Perform nursing assessments and emergency care as needed.
- Must be a registered nurse in Virginia or a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to perform nursing services for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated comprehensive nursing skills.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of standard medical equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and communication with families, community providers, and team members.
- Ability to work independently to complete reports and document pertinent information in medical records.
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position, including standing for long periods, walking, running, and lifting non-ambulatory residents.
- Ability to work overtime and various shifts if needed.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We offer a comprehensive benefit package, including your choice of health insurance plans, paid life insurance, and retirement plans. However, this is an hourly/wage position and is not eligible for benefits.
