Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Southeastern Virginia Training Center. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • Assist physicians with routine medical treatments.
  • Conduct routine assessments and provide care in homes during the week and weekends as assigned.
  • Participate in planning and service provision with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate services with family members.
  • Perform nursing assessments and emergency care as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be a registered nurse in Virginia or a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform nursing services for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive nursing skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of standard medical equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and communication with families, community providers, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently to complete reports and document pertinent information in medical records.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position, including standing for long periods, walking, running, and lifting non-ambulatory residents.
  • Ability to work overtime and various shifts if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
