Job Title: Special Education Teacher Floater

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher Floater to join our team at Elizabeth Seton Childrens. As a key member of our educational staff, you will provide support to students with special needs, promoting their academic and personal growth in a safe and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Substitute in classrooms for teacher absences or vacancies, ensuring continuity of learning experiences for students.
  • Maintain a well-organized library and participate in therapeutic feeding programs, contributing to the overall well-being of our students.
  • Participate in all activities related to the Elizabeth Seton Childrens School (ESCS), fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Job Functions:

  • Promote the mission and core values of Elizabeth Seton Childrens, embodying the principles of Respecting and Embracing Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Evolution, Growth and Change, and Loving Relationships.
  • Act as a substitute teacher in the classroom, adapting to the needs of students and ensuring a smooth transition during teacher absences.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with NYS Learning Standards, addressing the individual goals of students and strengthening the continuity of learning experiences between home and school.
  • Write accurate and timely evaluations, quarterly progress reports, and draft IEP/ISFP documents in accordance with all regulations.
  • Collaborate with the classroom team to design lesson plans based on effective practices in child development, utilizing current evidence-based practices to monitor progress and ensure positive student outcomes.
  • Actively participate in the creation and implementation of an individual and school-wide Professional Development Plan, inspiring personal growth, informing teaching practices, and promoting understanding of the NYS Teaching Standards.
  • Create an organized classroom environment, ensuring a safe and educationally challenging learning space for students.
  • Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School Administration.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Special Education.
  • Permanent/Professional New York State Certification in Special Education.

Experience:

  • Two years of experience working with children with multiple disabilities in a special education or related setting.

Salary Range: $71,514.60/Yr. to $95,155.78/Yr.
