Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging patients for Computed Tomography examinations, producing high-quality CT images to aid in medical diagnosis, and ensuring patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange patients for Computed Tomography examinations
  • Produce high-quality CT images to aid in medical diagnosis
  • Ensure patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols
  • Screen patients for safe administration of contrast media
  • Utilize departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment
  • Provide complete pre and post education to patients and family
  • Work under minimal supervision and may perform additional job duties
Clinical Skills

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic principles and theory, anatomy, and pathology processes. They will be able to demonstrate the most appropriate technique and/or position for optimal examinations, as evidenced by exam results.

The technologist will adhere to policies and protocols to ensure all examinations are optimized for interpretation, as demonstrated by exam results.

General Safety

The successful candidate will effectively communicate with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent, explain procedures to patients/families, and answer any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation.

The technologist will identify and take appropriate action to resolve emergent problems that may interfere with exams, and produce the most desirable outcome, as evidenced by exam results and patient safety.

Equipment Maintenance

The ideal candidate will maintain an orderly, safe, and clean state environment, and ensure that rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and have required supplies readily available for procedures at all times.

The technologist will operate imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications, perform daily calibration and adjustments as required, and troubleshoot equipment effectively and immediately.

Documentation/Communication

The successful candidate will correctly identify patients along with their files, ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled studies.

The technologist will track patients according to department procedures, identify errors, and take immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the RIS reports.

Radiation Safety

The ideal candidate will ensure patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screen patients for safe administration of contrast media.

The technologist will participate in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records.

Other Duties as Assigned

The successful candidate will act as a backup for other technologists in the department as needed, and complete additional duties correctly and appropriately within the specified time frame as required by managers/supervisors.
