Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a full-time 2nd Shift Maintenance Specialist to handle work orders, prepare units for new residents, and conduct preventive maintenance across our properties in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas. The scheduled hours for this position are from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues within apartments, including:
    • Addressing plumbing concerns such as leaks in faucets, toilets, and other fixtures
    • Repairing or replacing window coverings and closet doors
    • Conducting minor electrical repairs or replacements for lighting, ceiling fans, and smoke detectors
    • Performing minor sheetrock repairs and fixing building structures like broken windows and locks
    • Executing minor caulking tasks for tubs and sinks
    • Carrying out minor appliance repairs

Utilize your expertise in building maintenance to prevent future issues, particularly in historical and aging structures.

Engage with residents regarding repairs in a compassionate manner that aligns with Hornig Companies' customer service standards and Fair Housing regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical, plumbing, and light electrical skills
  • Possession of a Special Boiler's License or the ability to obtain one within six months
  • A willingness to learn and adapt

  • Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Proficiency in using mobile applications for work orders and information management
