Overview
The Armed Security Officer is a trained professional who has completed the necessary training and holds the authority to enforce federal laws. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: responding to emergencies, enforcing laws, conducting patrols and inspections, managing traffic enforcement, making arrests, and ensuring the safety of designated properties. The officer is equipped with firearms and other necessary tools to perform their duties effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations while performing duties in a secure manner.
- Arrive at the workplace in the appropriate uniform and with all required equipment.
- Possess the ability to use force, including lethal force when necessary.
- Participate in daily briefings, receive assignments, and follow additional instructions as needed.
- Execute general and specific orders for the assigned post.
- Communicate effectively through radio, telephone, and in person as per directives.
- Engage with the public and government officials as required.
- Manage access control, traffic oversight, and perform both foot and vehicle patrols.
- Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the uniform and equipment.
- Follow established procedures and regulations regarding the security of personnel, property, and equipment.
- Conduct thorough checks of personnel, vehicles, and facilities, including inspections of packages.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Preferred experience includes a minimum of three years in law enforcement, military police, or security roles.
- Honorably discharged military personnel are preferred.
- Possession of a diploma or certificate from a recognized law enforcement or military training program is advantageous.
- Must maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is necessary.
- Must comply with drug testing and maintain an alcohol-free workplace.
- Proficiency in English is required for understanding and applying detailed instructions.
- No history of illegal drug use or felony convictions.
- Must qualify periodically on firearms training.
- Must meet NASA Physical Certifications.
- All candidates must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
