Job Summary

The Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for implementing and monitoring security measures for communication systems, networks, and providing advice to ensure that systems and personnel adhere to established security standards and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and Monitor Security Measures: Develop and execute government-approved security policies, plans, and procedures; implement data network security measures; operate and monitor network intrusion detection and forensic systems; conduct IS security incident handling; support Continuity of Operations Plan/Disaster Recovery (COOP/DR) plans, and perform certification of IS and networks.
  • Perform Defensive Cyber Operations: Ensure workstation and server compliance with Marine Corps McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) requirements; identify cybersecurity incidents using HBSS, Tenable SecurityCenter, RedSeal, McAfee Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM), and other automated tools; operate Imperva Web Application and Database firewalls; perform forensics and remedial action on cybersecurity incidents; and report defensive cyber operations statistics.
  • Operate and Maintain Security Systems: Operate Host Based Security System (HBSS), firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), other point of presence security tools, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and related security operations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certifications.
  • Clearance: U.S. citizen with Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Security Tools and Technologies: Experience with HBSS, Tenable Security Center, RedSeal, McAfee Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM), PKI, IPS, and other related security tools and technologies.

Clearance Requirement

Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance. In addition, selected candidate must undergo background investigation (BI) and fingerprinting by the federal agency and successfully pass the preceding to qualify for the position. US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED due to the nature of the government contracts we support.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range $73,000 - $94,000. The salary range for this position represents the typical salary range for this job level and this does not guarantee a specific salary. Compensation is based upon multiple factors such as responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, and other requirements.
