Job Summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Line Haul Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailer combinations over long distances, adhering to DOT regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations, including hours of service, inspection, maintenance, and transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Meet or exceed medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation and pass a drug test and alcohol test.
  • Operate BLU/DYMS and other computer/internal freight monitoring systems as required.
  • Be available for around-the-clock shifts to accommodate freight movements and be away from home for extended periods.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid commercial driver's license with haz-mat, doubles, triples, and tanker endorsements.
  • 1 year previous tractor-trailer driving experience or be a graduate of a State Certified and Licensed truck driving school.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to properly operate hand-held mini-computer when required.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Ability to meet or exceed medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
  • Pass a drug test and satisfactorily pass an alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Be at least 22 years of age.
