The Registered Nurse Float role encompasses providing adaptable nursing services across multiple units and departments as required. This position necessitates flexibility and collaboration with various healthcare teams to ensure thorough patient care, facilitating smooth transitions while upholding quality standards in a range of clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transition effortlessly between diverse nursing units and departments to deliver holistic care and support in various medical contexts.
2. Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and support personnel to provide patient-focused care and maintain effective communication across different units.
3. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' conditions and requirements, customizing care plans based on individual diagnoses and medical histories.
4. Respond swiftly to emergencies and critical situations, providing immediate nursing care and support to stabilize patients.
5. Assist with patient placements, admissions, and transfers, leveraging knowledge of bed allocation and capacity management to ensure optimal patient flow within the healthcare facility.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience:
Required:
Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse, including at least 1 year in a clinical specialty as recognized by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification:
Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
If assigned to a critical care area, ACLS certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is mandatory.
