Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Home Health Aide to join our team at Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation. As a Home Health Aide, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals in their homes, promoting independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Accurately take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
  • Assist patients with transfers to bed, chair, and commode, ensuring safe and efficient movement
  • Provide bowel/bladder incontinence care and assist with all aspects of toileting
  • Perform catheter care and apply colostomy bags, anti-embolic stockings, and simple dressings as instructed
  • Administer tepid sitz baths and assist patients in self-administering prescribed medication
  • Prepare patient meals and assist with feeding according to dietary instructions
  • Observe patients' physical and emotional status and report any changes to the Registered Nurse
  • Participate in in-service education programs and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current NJ Board of Nursing Home Health Aide certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of skills required to provide excellent care in an in-home hospice environment
Work Environment

This position requires working in patients' homes throughout the service area, utilizing a cell phone and GPS to navigate. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
