Local City Delivery Driver

At Saia, we're committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Local City Delivery Driver, you'll play a critical role in ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery of freight between company terminals and customer facilities or work sites within a defined geographic area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive tractor trailers to deliver and pick up customer freight.
  • Sort, handle, load, and unload freight at various company and customer locations.
  • Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Follow established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
  • Conduct inspections by following established safety and quality control procedures.
  • Retain and maintain records, forms, and load-related paperwork.
  • Serve as the first point-of-contact for delivery-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Class A commercial driver's license.
  • Safe motor vehicle report and applicable endorsements, including hazmat, tankers, doubles, and triples.
  • 1+ years of tractor trailer driving experience.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Ability to lift and move objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
