Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Trainee to join our team at Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores. As a Diesel Mechanic Trainee, you'll play a key role in maintaining the safety and performance of our diesel equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist diesel mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs
  • Learn and apply diagnostic techniques to identify and repair complex diesel issues
  • Develop skills in air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs, wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs, air system diagnostics and repairs, air brakes diagnostics and repairs, and charging system diagnostics and repairs
  • Learn to work with computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
  • Participate in the acquisition of parts and materials needed for repairs

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physical ability to lift 75+ pounds
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends
