Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Die Setup Technician to join our team at IPEX Group of Companies. As a key member of our PVC Extrusion Facility, you will be responsible for performing Die Shop set-up activities to ensure maximum safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and accurately reassemble all types of pipe dies and install dies on machines with supervision and instructions.
  • Exhibit advanced trouble-shooting skills while assisting in start-up of pipe dies when necessary.
  • Use measuring instruments and tools to ensure accurate measurements and quality control.
  • Fill out and use appropriate reports and forms to track production and quality metrics.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tooling in order, and assist in general departmental housekeeping as needed.
  • Start extrusion lines from 1⁄4" pipe to 16" PVC and CPVC lines and put into production to meet all required specification and quality standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years of age; completion of high school education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment; experience with extrusion and plastics is an asset.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform advanced mathematics.
  • Proficient in operating a forklift truck, pallet truck, and other material handling equipment and able to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to work 12-hour continental shifts (4 days on, 4 days off); 84 hours bi-weekly.
Working Conditions
  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and heavy lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required.
