In the role of Senior Worldwide Specialist, you will be part of the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) within AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS). Our approach is centered around understanding and addressing our customers' most intricate and critical business challenges. We develop and implement go-to-market strategies that transform AWS concepts into substantial revenue streams.


As a member of WWSO, you will lend your expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of AWS customer initiatives, from ideation for new services to expediting the adoption of existing solutions. We take pride in our ability to think innovatively, deliver outstanding results for our clients, and collaborate across AWS as a unified team.


This position is specifically focused on leading the global go-to-market strategy for SAP on AWS within the Healthcare & Lifesciences domain. You will serve as a key leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams worldwide, establishing direction and standards for addressing customer challenges in your area of expertise.


You will collaborate with technical and business teams across AWS, ensuring that the voice of the customer is integrated into our product development roadmap.


The Worldwide Specialist Team has a comprehensive vision and formulates plans that enable our highly customer-focused technical teams to achieve remarkable outcomes.


In this capacity, you will be recognized as an authority in the Healthcare & Lifesciences sectors, coupled with a deep understanding of industry-specific processes facilitated by SAP. This includes a strong familiarity with how clients implement SAP in these sectors and the common gaps or innovative use cases where they seek assistance beyond their SAP applications, utilizing ISV solutions, custom code, or cloud-native services from major cloud providers.


You will work closely with AWS industry teams to customize industry content for SAP clients, coordinate with SAP's industry teams to introduce complementary go-to-market offerings, provide thought leadership, and assist in the development of assets, solutions, and accelerators that will empower AWS field and SAP specialists to engage effectively with customers.


AWS and SAP have partnered since SAP became a customer in 2008. Together, we have certified AWS to support a wide range of SAP solutions, introduced purpose-built EC2 instances to meet SAP customer needs, and assisted SAP in leveraging AWS services to enhance various SaaS and PaaS offerings.


AWS has been supporting SAP workloads for customers longer than any other cloud provider, with thousands of clients running their SAP ERP and critical business systems on AWS today.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the go-to-market strategy to coordinate sales efforts across marketing, partners, product, training, and professional services teams to boost adoption of your designated technology domain.
  • Utilize your extensive domain knowledge to develop top-tier field enablement and sales strategies.
  • Support field teams in crafting solutions for high-priority clients.
  • Provide market insights back to product teams to foster innovation in AWS product roadmaps.
  • Manage reporting and planning processes for AWS executives regarding go-to-market plan execution.
  • Exhibit thought leadership and represent AWS credibly at industry events, conferences, and symposiums.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP business development, strategic partnerships, or program/product management.
  • 10+ years of experience assisting clients with technology decisions, ideally in cloud, hosted, and managed services within the technology sector.
  • 7+ years of experience in the Healthcare and Lifesciences industries.
  • Recent experience with cloud-native and containerized workloads.
  • Knowledge of business processes supported by SAP and/or other applications, along with experience in implementing or selling ERP solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AWS services and their application in modernizing SAP.
  • Experience in data interpretation and making informed business recommendations.
  • Experience in identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements.

Our compensation reflects the labor market across various US geographic regions. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is determined by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
