Position Overview

Rome Memorial Hospital is actively looking for a Registered Nurse who will proficiently execute the medical protocols as directed by the attending physician. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capability to perform nursing duties by employing the Nursing Process, adhering to Rome Memorial Hospital's policies and procedures, and complying with relevant regulations as stipulated in the Nurse Practice Act.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process effectively to plan and deliver patient-centered nursing care that is appropriate for various age groups.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ensure Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and any other necessary credentials are up to date.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive knowledge base to plan and provide age-specific nursing care to a designated group of patients, following the established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactively initiate modifications to the care plan to ensure suitable patient care, as demonstrated by updates in Care Plans and through quality assurance chart reviews.
  • Conduct precise and timely assessments of patients' physical, emotional, psycho-social, spiritual, and educational needs, as evidenced by practice and documentation.
  • Respond to changes in patients' conditions and medical regimens, ensuring timely communication of any significant changes to the healthcare provider.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Possession of a current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
  • One year of experience in an acute care hospital is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience in long-term care is highly preferred.
