Sheeter Operator

We are seeking a skilled Sheeter Operator to join our team at Strategic Logistics. As a Sheeter Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring schedules, prioritizing sheeting requisitions, and adjusting machines to meet production demands.

• Monitor schedules and prioritize sheeting requisitions to ensure timely production.
• Adjust machines to meet production demands, including cutting, slitting, and quantity adjustments.
• Check for proper length and squareness, quality of cut, and defects such as curl or checking.
• Scan rolls into the sheeting database, process, and print out load tags and skid reports.
• Determine efficiency of continuing runs beyond requested amounts.
• Stage machines with rolls for the next job up.
• Maintain sheeters with daily and weekly preventative maintenance and keep areas clean.
• Perform or assist with additional maintenance as needed.
• Train other material handlers and sheeter operators-in-training as needed.

• A general knowledge of sheeting and paper, with the skill necessary to understand and perform related work routines of some difficulty.
• Familiarity with computers, including the sheeting database and sheeter computer.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as job tickets.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished on written, oral, or diagram form and to deal with problems involving several changes in common situations.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and clamp truck.
• Ability to spend most of the day walking or standing, and lift up to 50 lbs.
