Job Description: As a Staff Nurse at Equiliem, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to meet various healthcare needs with ambulatory care as a primary focus. You will work with a diverse range of healthcare professionals and security officers in a correctional environment, frequently functioning guided by nursing protocols. Your role will involve demonstrating competency in assessment and identification of physical health, identifying inmate-centered goals and nursing objectives, and implementing prescribed interventions and solutions for identified problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial, and emotional needs of inmates.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and security officers to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Maintain current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing healthcare to inmates.


Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • A valid license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
  • CPR Certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a correctional setting (preferred).


Physical Demands: This role requires the physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes, lift and carry an emergency treatment bag weighing up to 45 pounds, and assist in lifting and rotating patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds).
