Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Danvers, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate ultrasonic equipment and perform diagnostic procedures such as pelvic and obstetrical sonograms. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the Chief Sonographer in the Vincent Obstetrical Ultrasound Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review patient history and other supporting clinical data to facilitate optimal diagnostic results.
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and optimal test results.
  • Select appropriate transducer, depending on depth-of-field and organ to be identified.
  • Conduct scanning procedures, including vaginal scans when indicated.
  • Store and retrieve images using PACS.
  • Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, umbilical blood sampling, and fetal interventions, while maintaining sterile technique.
  • Provide on-the-job training to students and residents, as assigned.
  • Complete paperwork pertinent to daily ultrasound schedule.
  • Daily stocking of supplies.
  • Adhere to MGH patient privacy and confidentiality policy regarding verbal, written, and electronic patient information.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of high school diploma and successful completion of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • Certification by the RDMS (Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with computers and modalities such as RIS, ROE, PACs, etc.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of sonographic fetal anatomy, including the fetal heart.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound imaging and ultrasound equipment.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
