Romanian Linguist

We are seeking a highly skilled Romanian Linguist to join our team at KACE. As a Linguist, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission by providing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Romanian to English.

• Perform real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Romanian to English
• Collect, analyze, identify, and decode colloquialisms and slang terms
• Extract pertinent information and communicate it to law enforcement agents
• Transcribe source documents and recordings from storage media
• Operate specialized software equipment provided by the government

• Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years' experience in a professional setting OR Associate degree AND five (5) years' experience in a professional setting OR a High School Diploma AND seven (7) years of experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of transcription experience in the required language
• Knowledge of source language colloquial terms and expressions
• Knowledgeable in SMS language, social media, and Webchat
• Excellent verbal and written skills in the target language, including correct and accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Ability to meet contract requirement of a score of 3 or better on a third-party Language Assessment (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing) in English

Employees will be required to work nights, weekends, and Holidays. Employees supporting this contract are considered ESSENTIAL to the Federal Government.
