Position Overview:

As an MRI Imaging Specialist, your primary responsibility is to ensure patient safety while conducting high-quality magnetic resonance imaging studies, either on-site or remotely. You will maintain effective communication with radiologists, colleagues, patients, and clients, particularly in mobile settings. Additionally, you may be tasked with training and orienting new staff members, including technologists and patient coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patient safety through thorough pre-screening for contraindications and adherence to aseptic techniques.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images, operating various MRI systems as necessary.
  • Utilize effective communication channels to address concerns, resolve issues, and manage conflicts.
  • Engage with customers and radiologists to facilitate clear communication.
  • Train and orient new technologists and support staff, both on-site and remotely.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Technologist with ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMDS certification.
  • MR registered technologist R.T. (MR) ARRT or ARMRIT.
  • Experience in other modalities with at least 3 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrollment in an accredited MRI training program for over 6 months.
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist, if applicable.
  • CPR Certification, including BLS upon hire and ACLS within 90 days, if applicable.
  • Active State Driver's License required for those performing mid-day moves.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements may be necessary.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening is mandatory.
  • Local travel may be necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
Physical Requirements:

Employees may encounter outdoor weather conditions while transporting patients in mobile units and will be exposed to strong magnetic fields. Interaction with patients may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases, as well as environmental hazards such as noise.

Physical Demands:

More than 50% of the time:
  • Engage in sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Perform repetitive movements with hands, arms, and legs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients through seeing, speaking, and hearing.
Less than 50% of the time:
  • Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Climb and maintain balance.
  • Lift and carry non-ambulatory patients for transfers or examinations.
