Optometric Assistant

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Optometric Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our eye care providers and technicians.

• Assist eye care providers and technicians in the exam and treatment of patients
• Manage patient flow and perform patient rooming standards
• Perform and document diagnostic testing ordered by eye care providers
• Administer topical ophthalmic and oral medications at the direction of the provider
• Assist in patient transfers, including to other areas of the department for completion of the examination
• Perform tasks of basic computer scheduling, rescheduling, canceling, and coordination of appointment
• Collect and record accurate telephone information per department policy and relay it to eye care provider or technician

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• No experience required
