POSITION OVERVIEW

EMCOR Government Services is currently seeking a Helper. This role requires adherence to all safety protocols and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. The Helper will operate under the supervision of a Field Foreman or Field Superintendent, with assignments that may include various project sites.

  • Gather and prepare materials for installation tasks.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare piping and sheet metal for assembly.
  • Assist in the layout and installation of piping supports and sheet metal.
  • Work with project drawings to assist in laying out piping routes.
  • Support the project craft team as required.
  • Help with the installation of piping systems, sheet metal, and associated equipment.
  • Participate in the testing and commissioning of piping systems.
  • Operate lifts, tools, and equipment as necessary.
  • Manage the removal and disposal of scrap materials appropriately.
  • Report any potential project challenges related to design and constructability to the supervisor promptly.
  • Align with project team objectives and directives.
  • Prioritize safety, productivity, and adherence to schedules while maintaining high workmanship standards.
  • Commit to safe working practices and comply with all safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with strong mathematical skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in piping or fabrication.
  • Familiarity with basic piping systems.
  • Basic construction skills, including knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic schematics and drawings.
  • Capability to navigate job sites safely.
