As a Manager of Site Reliability Engineering within PNC's Technology division, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Over 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, focusing on telemetry, observability, self-healing mechanisms, and platform automation.
- Proficient with monitoring, logging, and telemetry tools such as Big Panda, Dynatrace, Logscale, ELK, and Splunk.
- In-depth knowledge of Networking, Content Delivery Networks (CDN), and Cloud Platforms.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring streaming platform technologies, including Apache Kafka.
- Skilled in automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
- Expertise in developing and supporting automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Ruby, AWK, SED) for health checks and self-healing functionalities.
- Advanced experience with cloud platforms like MS Azure and AWS.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, and DHCP.
- Familiarity with collaboration and change management tools like Jira and ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of various databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata, and DB2.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to enhance problem identification and service restoration of digital platforms through automated alerting and intelligent self-healing systems.
- Oversee the implementation of fully automated telemetry and observation systems to improve reliability, stability, and performance.
- Provide advanced Incident Management and Problem Management support, analyzing telemetry data and system logs to resolve platform issues.
- Document all changes in accordance with established controls and procedures, raising issues and concerns with actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
Roles at this level typically require a university/college degree, along with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. A minimum of 3 years in a management role is generally expected.
In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered.
Core Competencies:
- Application Delivery Process – Knowledge of key tasks and formal methodologies for delivering new or enhanced applications.
- Application Development Tools – Proficiency in utilizing various tools for application development and support.
- IT Environment – Understanding of the organization's IT objectives and standards to create an effective operational environment.
