This entry-level position focuses on applying engineering principles to the design and construction of various transportation and infrastructure projects, including freight and passenger rail systems, municipal works, airports, and energy projects.

The role will specifically involve supporting traffic analysis and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design.

Essential Duties include:

- Assisting in the analysis of data to complete routine design tasks.


- Participating in non-design engineering activities such as construction oversight, materials testing, surveying, and field data collection.

- Following guidance from Project Managers or Senior Engineers regarding expected outcomes.

- Conducting research on design alternatives and documenting findings for senior engineers.

- Maintaining project databases through programming and data management.

- Investigating code requirements.

- Preparing necessary reports for project permits.

- Keeping senior management updated on workload and project changes.

- Enhancing professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.

- Assisting in the development of business proposals.

- Participating in training to cultivate project management skills.

Qualifications:

What You Bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and writing routine reports.

- Willingness to develop effective communication skills for small group presentations.


- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.

- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios.


- Initiative in identifying and solving engineering challenges, while knowing when to seek guidance.


- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Office, and relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

- Engagement with diverse perspectives in problem-solving and fostering collaborative learning within the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in surveying and construction management is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Completion of the Engineering-in-Training exam is highly encouraged.
