Job Summary:

The Video Editor is a key member of the InsideHigherEd team, responsible for crafting engaging video content that showcases the university's academic excellence and student life. As a Student Employee, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in video production, collaboration, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Media Ingestion: Upload media to online cloud storage systems, ensuring seamless collaboration with the creative team.
  • Transcoding and Media Management: Transcode footage into editable formats, manage media assets, and maintain organization of editing projects.
  • Video Editing: Edit video content for assigned projects, ensuring smooth cuts and transitions, and applying visual effects and color correction as needed.
  • Collaboration and Quality Control: Work with filmmakers and producers to finalize projects, ensuring all content meets quality standards and deadlines.
  • Graphic Design Integration: Cooperate with the Graphic Designer to create motion graphics or thumbnails for InsideHigherEd's website or YouTube channel.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of video production principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
