Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues ranging from basic to complex with agricultural machinery. Efficiently operate, maintain, and repair custom harvesting equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on all machinery, including lubrication and oil changes.
  • Monitor field conditions and communicate any damage to management.
  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing minor mechanical issues such as belt slippage, flat tires, and electrical failures, as well as rebuilding hydraulic pumps and replacing various mechanical components.
  • Address highly complex mechanical challenges, including complete rebuilds of combines or harvesters and the installation/programming of software.
  • Proactively identify potential mechanical or field-related issues and respond accordingly.
  • Maintain and repair facilities used for the upkeep and storage of harvesting equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with Custom Harvest and Field Supervisors to ensure timely harvesting of high-quality products.
  • Perform basic fabrication tasks as required.
  • Supervise field crews as necessary.
  • Adhere to established safety practices and procedures.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, as well as any relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or demonstrated proficiency through relevant job experience and/or training.
  • Ability to manage physical exertion.
  • Willingness to travel as required by harvesting needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of general mechanical experience, preferably with agricultural or heavy equipment.
  • Completion of relevant vocational or agricultural technical training may substitute for years of experience.
