Job Description

WireCo WorldGroup is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum production efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics. You will also be responsible for performing regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities, as well as installing new machinery and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup, operate, and maintain various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics to determine machining operations required.
  • Perform mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Install machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Repair fork trucks.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements:

  • Possess math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and tape measure.
  • Must be able to use assorted hand tools, power tools, welders, cutting torch, lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Knowledge of various materials and their properties to be able to suggest and apply different materials as needed.
  • Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 10-12 hours.
  • Must be able to push/pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions of high and low temperatures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three-to-five years' experience as a machinist/mechanic in a manufacturing environment or similar field.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • An applicant must complete a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment. A criminal conviction will not be an automatic bar to employment.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
