Travel Nurse RN Labor and Delivery

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to laboring women and their newborns, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing emotional support.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and respond to any abnormalities, utilizing external fetal monitoring and other equipment as needed.
- Administer medications, including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, and pain medications, as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist with sterile speculum exams, NSTs, and OCTs, and provide antepartum care as needed.
- Circulate for cesarean sections and scrub for cesarean sections as required.
- Provide neonatal care in the delivery room, including resuscitation and stabilization of newborns.
- Float to the Mother/Baby unit as needed, providing care to postpartum patients and their newborns.
- NJ RN license required upon start.
- 2-3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM Intermediate Level certification required.
- Strong experience with IVs, including managing and administering medications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment in a Level 2 L&D hospital with 1000 deliveries annually. The hospital has 7 LDRs, 2 ORs, 3 bed L&D triage, and 20 bed Mother-Baby Unit. The unit is equipped with AllScripts Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) and GE Centricity Fetal Surveillance and Documentation system.
