We are seeking a skilled Cardiopulmonary Specialist PRN to join our team at Centerpoint Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in the nation. As a key member of our respiratory therapy team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Job Summary and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, with a focus on patient assessment, treatment planning, and cardiopulmonary care. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by physicians
- Administer medical gases, aerosol therapy, and other treatments as prescribed
- Obtain and analyze blood specimens, perform patient testing, and operate various types of equipment
- Provide mechanical ventilation, maintain artificial airways, and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Document patient information, clean equipment, and maintain safety and infection control practices
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required
- Current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
