**Job Summary**
The Special Education Teacher will provide direct services to students based on their individualized education plan (IEP). This role requires collaboration with other professionals, discussing progress with parents and teachers, and planning, delivering, and evaluating instructional outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Consult with teachers to develop programs and materials that meet the individual needs of students.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to incorporate accommodations into the curriculum and develop lesson plans.
- Assist students with completing classroom assignments, homework, and projects.
- Coordinate and provide necessary services for students.
- Guide students in understanding classroom rules and procedures.
- Develop and update IEP goals and objectives.
- Organize and lead IEP meetings and provide necessary documentation.
**Additional Responsibilities**
- Administer and interpret individual formal and informal assessments.
- Document student achievement and progress toward objectives and goals.
- Provide progress reports and timely communication with parents.
- Establish relationships and maintain regular communication with parents regarding student needs.
- Maintain all required paperwork to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
**Requirements**
- Wisconsin Special Education Teaching Certification.
- Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Certification required before first day with students.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- Additional ongoing professional development.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- 1+ years of experience working in a school setting.
- Experience with the needs of a diverse student population.
