Project Development Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Development Engineer to join our team at Southern Company. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our sales team and ensuring the successful development of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to the sales team in the pre-sale development of opportunity scope, costing, and application.
- Develop concept drawings sets, including electrical one-line diagrams and site layouts.
- Assist in the development of project scope, schedule, risk, and project information management.
- Collaborate with sales staff, product engineering, and manufacturing leads to ensure complete and shared project understanding.
- Participate in new product offering discussions and maintain awareness of industry product and technology trends.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as an electrical consultant, application/development engineer, or related industry position.
- Strong CAD skills and computer software skills.
- Ability to develop and lead projects, present and lead customer meetings, and specify and obtain accurate vendor quotes.
Work Environment:
This is a professional office environment with some walking required to browse projects on the shop floor. Limited local travel will be required.
