Job Summary

Ferris State University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Heavy Equipment courses in our College of Engineering Technology. This is a pooled position, and one or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct courses in the Heavy Equipment Technology program, utilizing a Lecture/Lab format.
  • Deliver instruction in a way that enables students with varying learning styles to attain course outcomes.
  • Enhance curriculum as needed to meet NATEF standards.
  • Develop and present educational experiences using varied methods and techniques.
  • Implement accepted assessment practices and assess student success toward outcome fulfillment.
  • Maintain office hours as required and be prepared for off-campus or distance learning teaching.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Qualification by Tested Experience: Bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Technology or Equivalent degree, with a minimum of three years full-time experience in the Heavy Equipment Service field or teaching in a Heavy Equipment related setting within the previous five years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CDL Class A, Air Brake Endorsement, Haz-Mat Endorsement, or ASE Certification.
