Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Deli Associate to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Deli Associate, you will be responsible for preparing and producing deli products, packaging and labeling them according to program plans, and merchandising them to meet customer expectations. You will also be responsible for stocking backroom with deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets, and working as a team with other departments to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and produce deli products to meet production planner requirements
  • Package and label deli products according to program plans
  • Merchandise deli products to meet flight plan and merchandising expectations
  • Stock backroom with deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets
  • Work as a team with other departments to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores
  • Notify the Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered
  • Understand basic mathematical functions and communicate tasks, recipes, weights, and measures to other associates
  • Follow all PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma (GED) preferred
  • One year of retail or related experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Detail-oriented
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
