Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of Medical Assistants
  • Create and maintain scheduling for Medical Assistants
  • Administer progressive discipline in coordination with the Practice Manager
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Medical Assistants
  • Coach Medical Assistants on personal performance and create action plans as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel, and the public
  • Responsible for onboarding education and annual education of Medical Assistants
  • Demonstrate positive public relations image with team, peers, patients, and visitors
  • Responsible for following up on inaccuracies made by Medical Assistants in the electronic medical record
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and functional work station
  • Has working knowledge and location of policy and procedure manuals
  • Plans and conducts team meetings as required
  • Completes required certifications and becomes proficient in clinic systems and procedures
  • Maintains certifications per state guidelines
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care and evaluates current staff on knowledge of appropriate patient care
  • Follows all OSHA and CLIA standards, policies, and procedures
  • Follows all HIPAA standards, policies, and procedures
  • Performs duties to achieve or exceed established service standards
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Maintain certifications per state guidelines
  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred
  • Strong computer skills required, EMR experience preferred
  • 3+ years of MA experience required
  • At least 1 year as a Medical Assistant Lead/Supervisor preferred
  • Current CBLS card
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • IV Certification preferred
  • Bilingual
  • Athenahealth practice management system

The Medical Assistant Supervisor will work in a fast-paced medical office environment, interacting with patients, families, personnel, and the public. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $26 - $32 per hour.
