This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective installation, operation, and upkeep of fire alarm systems. The supervisor will oversee the general activities of a field team, which includes the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm and life safety systems along with their components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install or enhance fire alarm systems in both commercial and residential properties.
  • Conduct testing and repairs on existing alarm systems.
  • Perform inspections to confirm compliance with installation codes.
  • Generate comprehensive inspection reports, noting any identified issues.
  • Accurately report the outcomes of completed work in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with building engineers, property management, and site contacts upon arrival to streamline project execution.
  • Ensure the integrity of all work before connecting to the building's fire alarm system, which may involve functionality testing of installed devices and checking circuits for faults.
  • Repair systems as necessary to maintain full compliance and operational readiness.
  • Inspect and maintain the service vehicle and all associated equipment, submitting repair requests as needed to ensure safe operation.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with both commercial and residential fire alarm systems is essential.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams or groups on various projects.
  • A clean driving record is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant principles, practices, codes, and regulations is necessary.
  • NICET certification is preferred, which requires prior experience or training.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards, including 70 and 72, is advantageous.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • The role requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks, along with occasional lifting or moving of heavy objects.
  • Essential physical abilities include balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
